Project Objectives

Maxcon Industries was contracted by Abigroup to design, manufacture and install two roofs for Anerobic Digesters. The roofs were designed to capture methane gas, which is a by-product of the Biomass process.

Scope of Works

Special Considerations

The components were fabricated in our workshops and transported to site for final assembly and painting. Fabrication, sandblasting and initial priming was completed in the workshop therefore reducing onsite fabrication and painting time.

Fabrication

The two 84,000 kg digester roofs were manufactured in Maxcon Industries specialised fabrication workshop facility in Ipswich, west of Brisbane. The facility benefits from an assembly line approach to fabrication which encourages throughput and high productivity. Cut raw material enters the facility at one end then the fabricated items proceed via rail or overhead crane from general fabrication to finishing.  After sandblasting, the complete fabricated equipment is painted in our specialist environmentally friendly painting facility prior to packaging and dispatch. Workshop 1 is perfectly suited to fabricate the specialist equipment guaranteeing high quality product.

Delivery

50 loads were required to deliver the pre-fabricated sandblasted and primed components to site for final assembly. Maxcon Industries successfully completed the two 84,000 kg Digester roofs, which measured 23 m diameter and 2.5 meters high each, and delivered them to site with no problems.
